Description of extracurricular activities

Date: 09.02.2013

Class: 10 A

Theme: "Smoking”

The form: class hour

The purpose: To warn children about smoking.

The objectives:

1. To development an interest to the given theme

2. Kept informed pupils about the danger of smoking

3. To create prerequisites for smoking pupils to think about the consequences of this habit

Equipment: an interactive board, pictures, posters.

We think that the given theme was actual for the pupils of 10th grade. Because exactly in this age young people start to smoke. Exactly in this period smoking becomes like a habit which can be spread among the whole class. Here a big role takes place an influence of the classmates. From psychologists point of view the main cause of smoking in this age is requirements of approval of the classmates and friends. Scientists consider that most affective forms of giving up smoking are discussions and games. That it way we took these forms for conducting the class hour. Duration of the class hour was forty five minutes ot was good organized and corresponded to the program of the class leader.

In this case before the discussion of the topic we have made an unanimous questionnaire in order to revel smo0king pupils, not smoking and those who hide their bad habit. Pupils were very active during hole action. They were responsible to carry out the tasks. Pupils have created interesting advertisements against the smoking. They liked this tasks because they could show their personality and own attitude to the given problem.

The theme of the class hour corresponded to age features and interests of the pupils. During the discussion we have found that six people out of twenty are hard smokers and the rest part of the class have never tried. We would like to emphasis seriousness of the situation, so as out of six hard smokers there are four girls. These people are good aware of danger consequences of smoking. But never the less only one girl made a wish to give it up.

Necessary material gave good informative value. It was important that the discussion helped to form common opinion of the class: "Smoking-is unhealthy and dangerous habit”. Undoubtedly, this group discussion and games have been spent in an unconstrained atmosphere in order to make mutual trust.

Our duty was to explain pupils that the main thing is to win against smoking and do not to be yielded by persuading.

We have spent three games which exactly took place by the given theme. During the discussion we wanted to find the motivation which impels young people keep smoking. And we have found that the main cause which impels them to try to smoke first time is an imitation and tendency to adultness. Thus, the main objectives for the class were:

1. an ability clearly to formulate the arguments against smoking,

2. an ability to oppose friends impression. The class hour was built in such a way which allowed to get useful information and an opportunity to show different points of view by this problem and to discuss the questions, and also it allowed to show a creative approach of every pupil. It is necessary to note that our forms of conducting the class hour gave pupils the opportunity to working groups, to help and support every person, allowed to single out the leader in the whole process.

We think that this class hour has been conducting as well as it was planned. And also it gave the opportunity to make connection between class and teacher. Thus, we think our purpose was reached and completely realized.

Psychological and pedagogical characteristic of 5 ^th "A" grade

During the practicum in the school № 34, in one of the classes I was the leader of the given class which I made psychology-pedagogical characteristic. During researching of the structure and class organization several methods have been applied: observation and conversations with pupils.

The psychological climate

According to test results the psychological in the classroom can be considered as inert. Guys do not tend to help each other in joint deals they are not always organized and do not have mutual support. By estimation of the given class we can easily see that the class is divided into two subgroups: "we” and "they”. Pupils have also noted the fact that almost everyone is always good-naturedly refer to each other. However, it is impossible in conclude, it should be noted that the class lacks cohesion educational leaders: Botbaev Adilet, Dairambekova Jania, Jumanbaev Nurbol, Bazarbai Merei. It should be noted that the class is focused on the honesty in dealing and communicating. The good moment is the fact that the class has its own traditions ("drinking tea”, going to the cinema), which promotes greater recommendations of the elder people. One of the positive side is the positive attitude of children to studying and very good marks.

In the 5 "A" class is thirty pupils. Boys - 14. Girls-16. In the class of four students studying for a rating of "5", ten students studying for a rating of "4", and sixteen pupils learn satisfactorily.

Psychological and pedagogical characteristic of the pupil

General information. Botbaev Adilet was born in 2001. Pupil of 5 "A" grade, school № 34, Maikuduk. He lives with parents. He is group perfect.

Botbaev Adilet smart, hard-working and sociable boy. He is in class and outside lessons very active boy. He has good manners and good breeding.

He's an excellent student. He is studying very hard, he has a huge interest and potential in learning. In the study of all subjects few mistakes. So versatile boy, because the interest to learn and progress in all subjects is high. He's curious.

He is confident, even a little arrogant. He is a leader by nature, but at the same time, sensitive boy.

He gets along well with the class, so he was appointed prefect of the group. He knows how to manage a class with the aid and advice mistress.

He's one of those boys who are around (teachers, classmates, family, relatives, friends) lay great expectations and look up to him.

And if it is right to send his ability to learn, it will grow as a person, a leader. It is necessary to take into account the sensitivity and then we can get good results and success.

Conclusion

During passaging of the practicum I have fixed the knowledge about educational process at school, its activity and its also heads and pedagogical collective. The significant problem was to study pedagogical experience of qualified teachers.

During the practice I have helped the teacher with execution of out-of-school action. Also I have received the representation about the basic directions of work of modern secondary school. I have fixed the knowledge about functional duties of the class leader. I have studied main objectives and organization purposes of educational process. Lesson by lesson I took a practice of planning an educational work is group. I have spent some conversations with different classes and one test on unity of a class. I investigated a level of development of educational collective, have studied features of pupils collective. During my practicum I have spent twenty four lessons and gave its analysis.

During the practicum have got much knowledge and good information which certainly will be useful for me. I will consider that I have found my own methodic of teaching. During the practicum I have found a common language with the classes of different ages and I still have positive impression. I think that I achieved purposes and realized my objects.

My Favourite Room

We live in a new 16-storeyed block of flats. It's situated in a very picturesque place.

There's a big supermarket on the ground floor and it's very convenient to do everyday shopping. Our flat is on the fifth floor. It's very comfortable and well-planned. We have all modern conveniences, such as central heating, electricity, gas, cold and hot running water, and a telephone. There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a hall in our flat. There's also a balcony and we can enjoy a lovely view of the river.

The largest room in our flat is the living room, and we use it as a dining room, too. In the middle of the room there is a big table and six chairs around it. Opposite the window there is a wall unit with lots of books, a TV-set, and a DVD-player.

There are two comfortable armchairs and a small coffee table in the right-hand corner.

There is also a sofa and an electric fire in our living room. We like our living room, so in the evenings we gather there to have tea, watch TV, talk, and rest.

Our kitchen is large and light. It is well-equipped. We have got a refrigerator, a freezer, a microwave oven, a coffeemaker, and a toaster. We haven't got a dishwasher yet, because it is very expensive. But I'm sure we shall buy it in the nearest future.

My favourite room is the smallest room in our flat, but it is very cosy and light. There is a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, an armchair, and several bookshelves here. There is a thick carpet on the floor.

The walls in my room are light brown and there are some big posters on them. I like my room very much, but from time to time I change it round. I quite often move the bed and change the posters on the wall.

Our kitchen

My favourite room is our kitchen. Perhaps the kitchen is the most important room in many houses, but it is particularly so in our house because it's not only where we cook and eat, but it's also the main meeting place for the family and friends. I have so many happy memories of times spent there: special occasions such as homecomings, Christmas dinner, sitting down to read the newspaper with a steaming hot mug of coffee.

Whenever we have a party all, people go to the kitchen. It always ends up the fullest and noisiest room in the house.

So what does this special room look like? It's quite big, but not huge. Its big enough to have a good-sized rectangular table in the centre. There is a large window above the sink, which looks out onto two apple trees in the garden. The cooker is at one end, and above it there is a wooden cupboard.

At the other end is a wall with a notice-board, which tells the story of our lives, past, present, and future, in words and pictures: a school photo of the children, a postcard from Auntie, the menu from Chinese restaurant, a wedding invitation for next Saturday. All our world is there for everyone to read!

All our friends come straight into the kitchen and join in whatever is happening there. The kettle goes immediately and then we all sit round the table, drinking tea.

Without doubt some of the happiest times of my life have been spent in our kitchen.

The USA

1. General

The United States of America was formed by emigrants in 1382. The USA makes up of 62 states. Washington, the capital of the United States is situated on the Potomac River in the District of Columbia. The district is a piece of land which doesn't belong to any state but to all the states. All these states are sovereignty.

2. Geographical position and physical features:

The USA occupy a large territory and are situated in the central and southern part of North America. The USA is washed by the Atlantic ocean in the east and by the Pacific ocean in the west. In the north, the USA has borders on Canada and in the south on Mexico. The USA is divided into three areas: Eastern area is a highland, central area is a plain and Western area is mountains including the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Nevada. There are five great lakes in the northern part of the USA. There are: Huron, Michigan, Supireo, Ontario and Erie. They are connected by fast rivers. There is the most famous to the whole world fall called Niagara Fall. Mississippi together with its tributary Missouri is the longest river in the world.

3. Climate:

Mountain ranges cross the country from north to south and don't protect it against cold air from the north and warm one from the south. The USA has a continental climate.

4. National Economy.

The USA is a highly developed industrial country. Large reserves of oil, coal, iron and other minerals are solid base of development of Americans industry. Heavy industry prevails in USA, including such branches as the mining, metallurgical, engineering, chemical and high-tech industries. USA has also well-developed light industry which includes textile, tanning and footwear industries. The food industry is well developed too. Both animal husbandry and farming takes big place in the economy of the USA.

5. Political system

Under the Constitution, the federal government is divided into three branches. The Congress is vested with the legislative power and made up of two houses: the Senate and the House of Representatives. There are 435 members in the House of Representatives and 100 senators. Each state elects two members of the Senate. The executive branch is headed by the President, who proposes bills to Congress, serves as commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. The President is chosen in nation-wide elections every 4 years. The second person in executive branch is vice President. The vice President, elected from the same political party as the President The judicial branch consists of Federal District Courts, 11 Federal Courts and the Supreme Court. Federal judges are appointed by the President. Federal courts decide cases involving federal law, conflicts between citizens of different states. Constitution is the most important document in the USA. Constitution has been amended 26 times. The Bill of Rights guarantees individual liberties: freedom of speech, religion and so on.

Appendix 4

My future profession

Finishing school is the beginning of the independent life for millions of school leavers. Many

roads are open before them: technical schools, institutes and universities. But it is not easy thing to

choose a profession out of more than 2000 existing in the world?

Some pupils follow the advice of their parents, others can't decide even after leaving school. As

for me I have made choice long ago. I want to become a teacher of the Russian language and

literature. My choice of this occupation didn't come as a sudden flash. During all school years

literature was my favorite subject. I've read a lot of books by Russian and foreign writers.

I understand that reading books helps people in self-education and in solving different life problems. I would like to teach my pupils to enjoy reading, to encourage them to learn our national language and literature, which is the source of national culture. It is known that teaching is a very specific and difficult job. It shouldn't be taken easily. The teacher is a person who is learning as well as teaching all his life. Most jobs can be done within the usual office hours from 9 a. m. till 5 p. m., but teacher's work is never done and evenings are usually spent in marking exercise-books and preparing for the next lesson.

Teachers do not only teach their subjects. They develop their pupils' intellect, form their views and characters, their attitudes to life and to other people. It's a great responsibility and the teacher must be a model of competence himself. It's not as easy as it may seem at first. But I think that love for children combined with the knowledge I'll get at the University would be quite enough to succeed in my work. I'm applying to the philological department and I am sure my dream will come true sooner or later.
