Good morning, everyone! Thank you for opportunity to speak! The subject of my presentation is «President of USA John F. Kennedy». I find my issue relevant because it describes history of USA. Besides, I've chosen this issue because it is closely connected with my future specialty. I'm really interested in biography of John F. Kennedy, his life and career.

I've divided my presentation into four parts. First, I'd like to give you an overview of the life of President John F. Kennedy. Secondly, I'll move on to the characteristics of the presidency of John F. Kennedy. Then, I'll focus on his mysterious death. Finally, I'll summarize the results.

If you have any questions I'll try to answer them after my presentation. So, let me start…

So, first of all, I'd like to tell you about the life of John F. Kennedy. He was born May 29, 1917 (on the twenty-ninths of May, nineteen seventeen year) in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Kennedy was born into a wealthy Irish family. His father, Joseph Patrick Kennedy (1888-1969), was a prominent politician and diplomat, a close adviser to President Franklin Roosevelt. Mother - Kennedy, Rose Elizabeth Fitzgerald (1890-1995). Her father, John Francis Fitzgerald (1863-1950), at one time was a member of the House of Representatives and the Mayor of Boston.

In 1936, John enters Harvard University and graduated from university with honors in 1940.

John Kennedy began serving in the U.S. Navy in September 1941 and took part in the hostilities in the Pacific. During the military action he was seriously wounded and received two medals for bravery.

In 1951, Kennedy married Jacqueline Bouvier. Later they had a son John and daughter Caroline.

Now let's turn to my next point, I will tell you about the years of the presidency of John F. Kennedy. Kennedy was elected president in November 1960. His predecessor was Dwight Eisenhower. January 20, 1961 John F. Kennedy took the oath and became the 35th U.S. president. John F Kennedy was a charismatic and talented man. This is the reason people voted for him. Kennedy is the first U.S. president, who was a Catholic.

Kennedy advocated the improvement of relations between the U.S. and the USSR. But his reign was also marked by large foreign-policy strengths. It was a Berlin Crisis, the Caribbean crisis. Kennedy increased U.S. involvement in the civil war in South Vietnam. He was able to create a program that helped establish a connection with most of the Latin America nations. Kennedy advocated the equal rights of Negroes, taking the model of Abraham Lincoln.

John Kennedy did a lot for space exploration, he initiated the launch of the "Apollo" ("We decide to go to the Moon"). He suggested that the Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev join efforts in the preparation of the flight to the moon, but he refused. Besides, I want to say that he was the richest U.S. president.

Now I'd like to turn to the mysterious death of John F. Kennedy. He was assassinated November 22, 1963 in Dallas (Texas). Kennedy was fatally wounded by a shot from a rifle, when he and his wife Jacqueline in a presidential motorcade were traveling on Elm Street. Murder in a period of ten months has been investigated by a specially convened commission. The commission concluded that the murder was committed by a lone perpetrator of Lee Harvey Oswald. Well, that's all I have to say about the biography of John Kennedy.

That brings me to the last point, where I'll talk about what was done in honor of the president. Portrait of the Kennedy represented a 50-cent coins issued in 1964. In 1963 New York International Airport was renamed after him. In 1966, the Harvard Institute of Public Administration, one of the faculties of Harvard University, received the name of Kennedy,

Summing up, the goal of my work was to study biography of President John Kennedy. I think he played a huge role in American history and I find his story very interesting and mysterious.
