Rights and Duties of a Student Seeking Knowledge
Saitbaeva Diana
If the teacher merit determined by how his life, his experiences and his thoughts are extended in students then Confucius can be called greatest teacher of all time. His name became a symbol of the wisdom of an entire people, and the memory of his life and his unique personality exists till nowadays. Confucius believed that the ability to comprehend life, to judge ourselves, improved in everything humanizes man. Self-improvement, like any practice, cannot be done from scratch. It requires its own material which is taken from the culture and cultural traditions which contains the experience of perfection, humanization of many generations. Culture is a life filled with consciousness and consciously lived life is not dying, because it extends into eternity. Creativity, the human capacity for self-renewal and opening new horizons of his existence are the best guarantees of human constancy.
In the case of teaching should be valued primarily just something durable, ever-changing in our experience. Confucius describes human values ??like every moment of life, the light of reason and worship traditions. Confucius was the first and perhaps the most consistent defender of culture in human history. This defines his value as a teacher. Confucius was not engaged in the development of general issues of life and did not question the origin of the world and man. He is primarily known as the author of ethics and political doctrine, in the center of which stood a man - a member of the family and society. Confucius paid great attention to education, emphasized the importance of studying and understanding the accumulated information, and also he urged people to be guided by their knowledge in practice. One of his phrases is: "The Master said, "Is it not a pleasure, having learned something, to try it out at due intervals?.." "
During the study, Confucius believed, people become better and more moral, seeks to remedy the shortcomings and wrong acts. "When Duke Ai asked which of this disciples was eager to learn, Confucius answer, "There was one Yen Hui who was eager to learn. He did not vent his anger upon an innocent person, nor did he make the same mistake twice. Unfortunately his allotted span was a short one and he died. Now there is no one. No one eager to learn has come to my notice."" He fought for the education of the people in order to force them to follow the right path, which the people themselves cannot choose, because it is the highest wisdom, which is available only to those people who should rule and by their own example to lead them. So Confucius substantiated layer rulers whom could be anyone when he attains the wisdom and education in many areas of life. Confucius believed that education and training for a person are as necessary as the extraction of material livelihood.
Confucius, unlike Plato, believed that everyone should be educated. If a person has decided to seek education he must always improve himself more and more, not limiting himself. When people learn something new he becomes a little wiser. Plato considered otherwise, he wrote that only a select few people can have all the knowledge and wisdom to control others and to maintain a balance. Here is the basic policy of Plato - the balance in the state at the expense of the general mass of people. But for Confucius the main value was the balance within man. This balance creates a person's character, a man shapes the character of his family, and such family forms the character of the state.
Many of his writing show that Confucius also attached great importance to music as an independent academic discipline. He taught his disciples to music, raising it to the number of required courses, because music is a part of antiquity, and a way to feel the antiquity without words. Confucius was a constant companion of music, inspiration, and the path to the exemplary behavior, which is based on the supreme realization of the ideal of antiquity. He aimed to develop spiritual sensitivity. Sensitive disciples learn to not only see the fruits of spiritual advancement of man, but they learn to appreciate the uniqueness of every nuance of the experience. Confucius opened one great truth: only educated person can make a world of free, because he is available understanding of originality, uniqueness of each moment, conscious life of every human being, every place on which people can say, "Here was a man."
Student, as well as other members of society, should have his own rights and responsibilities. He must be convinced that the way that he chooses should be right and moral. In the process of learning he can be wrong, but student seeking knowledge must continue to move on and the next time he will already know how not to repeat his mistakes. Because when people are wrong is one more step toward achieving their goals. "When Duke Ai asked which of his disciples was eager to learn, Confucius answered, "There was one Yen Hui who was eager to learn. He did not vent his anger upon an innocent person, nor did he make the same mistakes twice. Uncomfortable his allotted span was a short one and he died. Now there is no one. No one eager to learn has come to my notice.""
One of the foundations of education content Confucius allocates morals education that gives people peace and tranquility. Student who has morals never chooses the wrong way. Then he can confidently go to the purpose following a few rules. Confucius believed that the student in achieving his goal should not look back. "While standing by a river, the Master said "What passes away is, perhaps, like this. Day and night it never lets up."" He also should never give up. If the student has chosen the way he should move towards the goal quickly or slowly, but every step that's progress. "Yen Yuan, having a sigh, said, "The more I look up at it the higher it appears. The more I bore into it the harder it becomes. I see it before me. Suddenly it is behind me. " "The Master is good at leading one on step. He broadens me with culture and brings me back to essentials by means of the rites. I cannot give up even if I wanted to, but, having done all I can, it seems to rice sheer above me and I have no way of going after it, however much I may want to." "
Just the basic principle of a student is a permanent, self- rectification. Every night when he closes his eyes, he should think about what he has achieved for the "today", what he needed to fix and in which direction he would be better to move on. So every day he will get better and better and so without stopping. There are no ideal people, but some people are more or less close to the ideal. "The master said, "One cannot but give assent to exemplary words, but what is important is that one should rectify oneself. One cannot but be pleased with tactful words, but what is important is that one should reform oneself. I can do nothing with the man who gives assent but does not rectify himself or the man who is pleased but does not reform himself."" confucianism creativity harmonious society
Confucius policy relative to a student has a lot of sense and is applicable even today. He describes the student as an individual person who constantly seeks knowledge. No, he is not perfect; he is just striving for the ideal. It helps him to improve himself and move on, mistakes and learns from this lesson, and certainly never give up. Confucius described such student hundreds of years ago, but these principles are very important goal for the student and nowadays.
Confucius, the man who has today a large number of followers, describing what should be a student eager to learn and thus emboldened many people aspire to all the ideals which he described. Descendant of Confucius in the 77th generation, Professor Kun Techen residing in Taiwan, writes: "The doctrine of Confucius based on ancient tradition and paved the way for future generations. It occupies an important place not only in the Chinese intellectual history, but also in the history of mankind in the world as a whole."
