Проведене дослідження дозволяє зробити такі висновки.

Сленг - це жаргонні слова або вислови в усній мові, які характерні для людей певних соціальних груп та ін. У сучасній англійській мові існує кілька різновидів сленгу.

Сленг у фільмах Гая Річі допомагає простежити зміни, що відбувалися в житті англійського суспільства на прикінці XX - початку ХХІ століття.

За аналізом мовних характеристик персонажів фільмів і психотипів ми можемо припускати поведінку конкретного героя і мовні реалізації емоцій.

Отже, фільми Гая Річі демонструють синтез понять мовної особистості, персонаж, художній образ, дозволяє перейти від аналізу мови героя фільму до розгляду авторського задуму, підводить нас до дослідження мови фільму в цілому.

У фільмах Гая Річі сленг належить до повсякденної лексики; сленгові словосполучення описують: людину (чоловіка/жінку), стан й відчуття людини (дуже часто після вживання алкоголю, наркотиків, різних станів стресу), гроші, автотранспортні засоби, одяг, соціальні відносини, емоції, спілкування, працю.

У аналізованих в дипломному дослідженні фільмах переважає сленг кокні, використовується також кримінальний сленг, фільми містять багато вульгаризмів і ненормативної лексики.

За задумом сценариста, це дозволяє зробити фільми жвавішими, ближчими до аудиторії, розкрити образи героїв, передати загальну атмосферу, відтворену у фільмі.

За матеріалами проведеного дослідження розроблено вправи, які можуть використовуватися у школах при вивченні англійського сленгу.
